Immature behavior in any love relationship (Husband-Wife, Fiancé-Fiancée, Boyfriend-Girlfriend, or any Lovers) is not very unusual. The main problem with immature acts in a relationship is – they are not visibly serious at this moment but have the potential to become a serious threat to your relationship in the long run.
Let’s discuss the top 11 signs of an immature relationship:
1. Communication Gap
Communication is the key to any relationship. It is not only words that are spoken to one another. It also includes an exchange of feelings, emotions, ideas, and even silent understanding between couples. You are in an immature relationship, if
– You find it difficult to share/express your feelings to your partner.
– You discuss an issue with your partner for a long time but get no solution.
– You feel that discussing any issue with your partner will not make any sense because your views will not be heard or will be ignored.
2. Over Possessiveness or Carelessness
Every couple should care for each other. But being over possessive or being too careless – both are not good for any matured relationship.
3. Jealousy
If you get Jealous whenever your partner talk with people of the opposite sex (or whatever sex they’re attracted to) or you try to stop them when they make new friends of the opposite sex (or whatever sex they’re attracted to), you need to discuss with your partner and try to explain your concerns and understand their point of view on this matter then this is not a good sign for your long-term relationship.
4. Feeling of Unfulfilled Expectations
If you often complain to your partner that your expectations from them are not being fulfilled and you are not able to give any proper reasons behind it, it shows a gap in understanding between both of you.
5. Trying to be Too Humorous
You try to make fun of your partner or cracks jokes on them (in-person or in front of others). Even if they don’t like it or feel offended in front of others, you think that it is fine to do so because you are just trying to be humorous. This is against a healthy mutual relationship.
There are many more acts that can define an immature relationship. We have discussed 5 topics from the list of 11 commons in this blog. However, it is very much possible that you might be behaving immaturely in some of the cases mentioned above and your partner in some other ways. To sort out all such issues and make your relationship mature, you both need to discuss the issues and try to find out solutions together.
Think about the following questions:
1. Have you (or your partner) ever behaved immaturely in your relationship?
2. What are those instances?
3. Are these issues resolved?
– If yes, what matured step(s) you (or your partner) took to resolve those issues?
– If not, what are your plans to resolve those issues?
